About

DIG Trends is about sharing observations on the latest trends in social media. Our contributors all work for Digital Influence Group and share a passion for helping organizations achieve business results by using social media to build deeper relationships with people and communities. In DIG Trends, we offer insights on what’s happening in the blogosphere, e-communities, social networks, and other interesting developments online. We hope our observations and opinions will spark a dialogue with you.

Adam

Adam doesn’t think he’s a geek, but he might be, digging into anything online that falls into the offbeat, cool or confusing. When not spamming his friends with the most amazing content he can find, he’s outside, planning travel or talking about the Spanish and Scuba classes he’s been meaning to enroll in for the last two years. After previous stints in traditional advertising, he’s putting his media addiction to work as part of the social media team.

Andre

Andre is an aspiring master chef, a painter semi-extraordinaire, and an amateur snake wrangler. Andre’s interests include emerging technologies, Japanese culture, snowboarding, and pimpin’ out his MySpace. Originally from Brazil, Andre has been all over the world and one day hopes to realize his dream of owning a bar in downtown Tokyo.

Char Lyn

Char Lyn’s (two words, one name) claim to fame is her 12 brothers and 10 sisters. (No, that’s not a typo.) Coming from a mega-family has piqued her interest in health issues, education, and communications tools. Her past history includes building interactive tools for science education, teaching 8th graders, and taking graduate school entrance exams just for fun.

Kelby

Kelby likes the Marx Brothers, Mummenschanz and taunting Happy Fun Ball. He is convinced penguins are the second funniest animal on the planet, and has a pathological fear of ostriches stemming from an unlikely event in Amsterdam. On a scale of one to ten with ten being the highest, four out of five dentists recommend him to their friends. When not writing nonsensical sentences, Kelby eats, sleeps and breathes, and shoots the fifth dentist angry looks.

Kevin

Kevin held brief stints as a pinball wizard, Argentine revolutionary and a bloodthirsty plant prior to joining Digital Influence Group. Tired of the flashing lights, Buenos Aires and Seymour, Kevin turned to client strategy for more excitement. Today, Kevin enjoys connecting with old friends via social networking sites. He hopes one day to reconnect with the Franciscan Monks in Assisi or the Venetian Gondoliers to further discuss that moldy smell in the Sistine Chapel.

Kristin

Kristin enjoys good-spirited verbal banter and playing with words, audio and imagery. She searches the Web for anything that will make her laugh out loud, inadvertently reaffirming her colleagues’ perception that she’s a bit off-kilter.

Neha

Neha lives for spontaneous adventures (i.e. skydiving) and traveling extensively, swears by the Patriots, craves Fenway sausages and JP Licks ice cream at all times, entertains herself with cheesy sports movies (i.e. Remember the Titans) and gossip magazines, relaxes by experimenting in the kitchen or perusing the shelves at the nearest bookstores, passes time by people watching and writing short stories and dabbled professionally in fashion magazines, commercial real estate sales and public relations until finding a new home in social media marketing.

Scott

Scott, a.k.a Scott Tower to his fellow Second Lifers, is a sports enthusiast who likes playing golf in his spare time. He enjoys cooking (preferably BBQ), checking off destinations on his global quest (Brazil, Peru, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Canada, Anguilla, and St. Maarten thus far) and most importantly rooting for his home teams (Red Sox, Patriots, Celtics). When not wandering and networking in Second Life, Scott likes to explore the Internet in search of advancing technologies and interactive trends.

Taryn

Taryn is a misplaced Yankee baseball aficionado, frequently causing a ruckus among her Red Sox-obsessed coworkers when professing her undying love for Derek Jeter. She’s held several previous professional stints, including her role as a manager at JP Licks. (Coffee Oreo ice cream is as good as people say it is.) Taryn prides herself on her impeccable turnout from too many years of dancing, her abnormal talent for impromptu public speaking, her flawless grammar and her uncanny ability to retain up to a week’s worth of Perez Hilton posts. She’s pretty proud of her keen attention to detail when implementing AdWords campaigns for her clients too.
